Job Description:

Director of MEA Development is responsible for directing, designing and executing experiments to further test and develop the Hoku Scientific technologies. In addition, he/she works directly with the executive management team to help refine the Company's short and long-term technical development plans and provide future direction on products, process and programs.

Director of MEA Development is counted on for team leadership roles and to assume a wide range of responsibilities. He/she should have 10+ years of relevant experience with significant knowledge of electrochemistry, particularly PEMFC and DMFC. The following describes the key areas of focus:

* Research team review and planning;
* Develop MEAs for stationary, automotive and micro fuel cells;
* Contribute to the development of new materials, new methods, proof of concept and prototyping activities;
* Prepare detailed reports of findings for presentation, use in research activities, publication in technical journals, and to support patent application(s);

Qualifications:

Ph.D. in the field of electrochemistry, chemical engineering, materials science (PMFC) or related engineering fields, with a working background and understanding of fuel cell operation, low temperature MEA, high temperature MEA, GDL, MEA scale-up, single cell, short cell stack, fabrication and evaluation. Successful applicants must be self-motivated project/ program leaders with experience in team management.

Additional experience writing proposals to government agencies is also highly desirable. Must work well in a diverse and challenging environment, and possess good interpersonal and leadership skills.
