Summary Description:

Primary responsibility is to provide general administrative support to the four-person New Ventures project in all aspects of work on sustainable growth in emerging economies. New Ventures is a project of the World Resources Institute that acts as a business accelerator working toward long-term sustainable, natural resource use by employing a market-driven solution that focuses on supporting environmentally and socially responsible enterprises in emerging economies.

Major Responsibilities:

* Assist and support the New Ventures Director
* Assist program in managing schedules, arranging meetings and set-up, and other administrative tasks including faxing, photocopying, mailing, and filing
* Manage project files and archives. Maintain project databases and mailing lists
* Manage and process travel and visa documents
* Participate in project management team meetings
* Answer general inquiries about New Ventures from the public
* Serve as liaison between New Ventures and other departments within WRI
* Receive and prioritize mail and e-mail, respond to routine items, and track follow up responses
* Schedules team meetings and any other ongoing meetings
* Assist in budget updates and new budget creation for proposals
* Assist program in compiling reports for funders
* Create and maintain contract agreements with partners, including overseeing reporting and follow-up requirements to complete agreements on time
* Respond to specific web-based and literature research needs as requested
* Recruit project interns as needed, supervise interns and manage their workloads
* Other tasks as assigned

Qualifications:

* Excellent organizational skills and proven attention to detail
* Superior interpersonal and communication skills
* Demonstrated assertiveness and persistence with regards to working with higher level staff in extracting reports and information needed
* Motivated individual who can juggle multiple tasks and projects
* Excellent computer skills with experience in a Windows environment; Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and the Internet
* Bachelor's degree required with at least one year of administrative work experience or equivalent internship and/or part-time experience
* Flexible individual who can work independently and with little supervision
* Website maintenance experience a plus
