Description
This position has opened up due to contract expiration of previous CD and will remain open until filled.
- Directly manage a staff of four to six depending on season (Webmaster, Student Administrator, Custom Course Manager, English Teacher/Community Liaison, Marketing Logistician) coordinating each of them so as to advance the promotion of marketing CRROBS courses in all its forms.
- Assist each position as needed with issues relating to sales, contracts, promotion, or any other aspect that requires assistance.
- Hire/recruit/train each of these positions as needed.
- Budget accordingly so that promotion, HR, PR are provided as needed.
- Coordinate and manage the "overall image" of CRROBS as it relates to every position under your supervision.
- Manage a significant portion of communication with Outward Bound International or other schools within the Outward Bound Community.
- Manage all communications with parents, students, media or any other entity that requires information related to an emergency situation, customer service issue etc.
- Coordinate interoffice communications between Operations and the Communication Department.
- Establish all price increases/decreases on yearly bases.
- Establish all financial aid packages for each new academic year.
- Approve/disapprove all financial aid requests. Approve/disapprove all refunds. Approve/disapprove all questionable student enrollment applications. Approve/disapprove all student course credit.
- Proof all promotional material before it is released for public consumption (print, website etc.).
- Manage all communications as they relate to the 800 number, efax etc..
- Design all "new products" (i.e. summer camps, custom courses, open enrollment courses etc.) This includes scheduling, contracts and operations coordination.
- Develop discounts and promotions as they relate to CRROBS courses.
- Develop and maintain all Human Resources throughout communication department (staff parties, incentives etc.).
- Consistently seeking out better, faster, and cheaper ways to improve marketing systems, communication and policies.
- Act as principle communications liaison between Executive Director and office staff. End of year reports: Student Participant Days, student enrollment, revenue, financial aid offerings etc.
- Act as a CRROBS spokesperson in the event of accidents or tragedies.
Contract Period: Two Years

Ideal Candidate Profile:
- The ideal Candidate will have B.A. in Marketing/Communications or similar degree (M.A. preferred but not required) or five to six years professional experience in Marketing/Communications.
- Spanish Language skills preferred but not required
- Minimum of 2-3 years of supervisory or management experience within the public or private sector.
- Minimum 2-3 years experience in Marketing and Communications with a focus in internet marketing.
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically and creatively about the role of communications in achieving the organization''s goals.
- Outstanding writing, editing, and speaking skills.
- Excellent interpersonal/diplomacy skills, a demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team, and to manage multiple priorities and projects effectively; the ability to think creatively and strategically while remaining focused on the detail-oriented work and follow-through required by the position.
- Minimum of one year experience living outside your country of origin.
- Previous cross-cultural work experience.
