TransFair USA is a non-profit organization that provides the only certification for Fair Trade products in the US. Supervisor: Business Affairs Director

Schedule: Full time, Monday-Friday

Salary: DOE Includes medical, dental, paid time off and other benefits

Overview of Position: The Business Affairs Associate has two areas of responsibility within TransFair USA. The associate helps currently licensed companies grow their Fair Trade Certified sales by providing relationship management, connecting licensees to sales tools and marketing opportunities created by TransFair USA.

The associate is also responsible for business development and negotiating license agreements with new companies to increase the number of companies offering Fair Trade Certified products.

Specific duties include: 

  • Accounts Management   
  • Manage relationships with key roaster licensees, with goal of growing their sales of FTC products   
  • Coordinate licensee involvement in programs developed by Marketing Department (Including PR support, marketing materials, origin tours, staff training, etc).   
  • Business Development   
  • Respond to inquiries from non-licensed coffee roasters and tea blenders   
  • Seek out new potential retailers and roasters to participate in Fair Trade   
  • Guide companies through the entire certification process, gaining their commitment to Fair Trade

 

Qualifications: Preferred - Bachelor's degree, 2-5 years strong sales or customer service experience with computer/internet skills and a basic knowledge of coffee and/or tea industry. Required - creativity, professional attitude, excellent negotiation and communication skills. Spanish useful.
