Borrego Solar Systems, Inc, a rapidly growing, solar energy installation company located in Berkeley, CA (Alameda County) currently seeks a highly articulate Administrative Assistant to support a team of sales personnel, engineers and project managers in a dynamic, friendly and yet casual environment.

The office is located in a home office/live/work space in west Berkeley; near lots of restaurants, approx. 1.5 miles to Bart and with quick access to the freeway.

A successful candidate for this position has these skills/experience:

  • Excellent written and oral communications
  • Advanced proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook
  • High degree of interpersonal skills and maturity
  • Accurate and efficient typing skills
  • Above-average organizational skills including attention to detail and follow-through
  • Good analytical and reasoning abilities
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities and to work under tight deadlines while providing consistent and professional service
  • Self-assured, able to show initiative, proactive
  • Ability to work overtime as needed

Position Responsibilities will include:

  • Learn about the solar industry and assist with the design and sales of solar pv systems
  • Respond to general inquiries and requests for information
  • Manage general email communications
  • Perform telephone reception, photocopies, faxes, banking and mailings
  • Assist with meeting support and maintain notice boards
  • Maintain the general organizational calendars, maps and notice boards
  • Coordinate travel arrangements
  • Coordinate mass mailing, conferences, and marketing efforts as required by program departments
  • Maintain office equipment including: telephones, printers and faxes
  • Control inventory of office supplies and maintain orderly appearance of office
  • Manage accounts with supplies vendors
  • Initiate general correspondences, memos, charts, tables, graphs, business plans, etc.
  • Work with sales staff to generate sales proposals as well as perform customer follow up
  • Place orders with vendors and pick up supplies for the field crew when needed
  • May direct and lead the work of others
  • Assist in special projects, perform research and maintain records
  • Establish and maintain a variety of files and records
