Description

Summer Internship opportunities are available at the Sea Pocket Lab, a brand new small aquarium at the Maritime Heritage Center on the waterfront in Gloucester, MA. This outdoor aquarium focuses on Cape Ann's coastal habitats and their connection to Gloucester's maritime past, present, and future.


Duties:


Interns will interpret exhibits for the public, deliver educational presentations on various topics in marine science, and participate in the care of aquarium exhibits.


This is a fantastic opportunity to "get your feet wet", gain valuable experience in marine science education and marine ecology, and learn a great deal while contributing your time.


Qualifications:


Interns are required to contribute 10-20 hours per week, some weekend hours are required. We are looking for creative,enthusiastic, flexible people with a strong desire to share their passion for the marine environment with our visitors.

You must be 18 or older to apply. College students or graduates with degrees in the areas of biology/marine science/environmental science are strongly encouraged to apply.


Positions start immediately and continue through August.
