Description

The San Francisco Department of the Environment is looking for a dynamic leader for the Department's new Environmental Justice Program.

Background:

The Environmental Justice Program was established to provide assistance to low-income and communities of color that bear a disproportionate burden from environmental pollution.

Duties:

The manager of this program will supervise four staff, oversee a $13 million dollar grant program for the Bayview Hunters Point and Potrero Hill neighborhoods, and develop new Environmental Justice programs.

Examples of duties include:

  • management of environmental justice projects;
  • grant writing and administration;

  • development of an environmental justice training program;
  • an ongoing assessment of environmental justice needs;
  • development and expansion of existing environmental justice grant programs;
  • community outreach;
  • and other responsibilities

Salary is $62,270 - $75,670.
