Financial Controller

The EcoSecurities Group is seeking a Financial Controller to manage all internal financial aspects of this small yet complex and rapidly expanding environmental finance advisory firm. EcoSecurities has offices in Oxford, London, The Hague, Los Angeles, Sydney and Rio de Janeiro. Our clients are based in over 60 countries. The international financial aspects of EcoSecurities’ activities makes the position of Financial Controller challenging and rewarding.

Job Description

The Financial Controller will be responsible for all aspects of the company’s financial management. During the first year the position will also involve putting financial management systems in place to adequately manage the financial performance of the Holding and the five subsidiaries. The financial controller’s main duties include:

· Report to the EcoSecurities board on financial performance;

· Manage the financial control of the company in close coordination with the management team comprising of the CEO and COO;

· All aspects of bookkeeping for the holding company and five subsidiaries;

· Dealing with all tax matters;

· Ensuring timely and correct payment of salaries;

· Producing budgets, forecasts and regular management reports.

In the first year of employment additional tasks will include:

· Implementing a new and standardized financial package;

· Implementing the centralization of financial management at the headquarters in Oxford;

· Improving the current (project) management tools used by EcoSecurities.

Qualifications and required skills:

· A minimum of 2 years practical experience;

· Outstanding Microsoft Excel skills as well as Sage or similar accounts software experience;

· Good organizational skills and the ability to implement financial controls on colleagues located in the UK and overseas;

· Affinity with international financial issues such as VAT, foreign exchange management;

· Professional qualifications will be a distinct advantage.

Conditions:

The position is due to start as soon as possible and will be based at the EcoSecurities head office in Oxford. We offer a salary ranging between £22,000 and £28,000 depending on experience. The controller will be able to participate in the company pension scheme.
