Duties:
CRC is looking for a dedicated, enthusiastic person to become a part of our education team. The primary role of the Wild Wings Educator Intern is to present environmental education programs, using live raptors, to diverse audiences across North and South Carolina.
The Wild Wings Educator will be responsible for education programming, including but not limited to: communication with teachers, care of raptors and vehicle while traveling, presenting programs to diverse groups, and promoting Carolina Raptor Centers mission.
Regular extensive travel throughout North and South Carolina and a valid drivers license are required.
Qualifications:
Experience and abilities should include: bachelors degree preferred in environmental education, natural sciences, biology, or related field, enthusiastic person willing to become a dynamic public speaker, strong desire to work with birds of prey, ability to work in both unsupervised conditions and team settings, flexibility to travel. The successful candidate will have commitment and excellent communication and organizational skills. Candidates must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and deal with dynamic situations.
This position will run August 18, 2003 through July 30, 2004, with re-signing options possible. Offsite housing and a stipend are provided.
