Description

Brown University invites applications for an assistant professor (research) in the Global Environment Program of the Watson Institute for International Studies with a joint appointment in the Center for Environmental Studies (or other relevant department). The appointment is for three years, there may be the possibility of renewal.

The candidate should have expertise in one or more of the following areas: global change, population-environment, environmental security or political economy as it relates to the environment. Responsibilities include teaching one course with an international environmental focus, possibly as part of the UNEP/Watson training program, as well as maintaining an active and funded research program.

The successful candidate is expected to have a Ph.D. in a relevant field, strong international interests and experience, a record of scholarly accomplishments in global or international environmental issues and demonstrated teaching ability.
