Position can be located anywhere in the continental U.S. with initial frequent visits to the home office in La Farge, WI.

Organic Valley is seeking a proven Meat Sales Director due to the growth and success of our brand. Ideal candidates should have meat marketing and sales experience, natural meat sales preferred, experience in multi-faceted program development, execution, and management, proficient MS-Office Skills, and above all energy, enthusiasm and a burning desire to succeed. Description

The primary function of the Meat Sales Director is to develop and execute strategic sales plans for the Meat Category. The Meat Sales Director teams with the Meat Executive Committee to monitor and refine the overall Business Plan for Meat.

Responsibilities

* Responsible for the strategic and profitable marketing and sales of all organic meat.

* Develop and monitor meat sales projections and marketing expenses.

* Team with the Meat Executive Committee and Meat Steering Committee in development and evaluation of meat sales strategies.

* Do or commission research when necessary to evaluate best market opportunities.

* Coordinate with staff on international strategy.

* Do quarterly evaluations and adjustments of sales and expense budgets.

* Supervise dedicated meat sales staff.

* Closely involved on several levels with New Product Development from inception through execution.

* Develop and maintain markets/customers for Oragnic Meat by means of developing relationships and making sales calls.

* Team with marketing on developing materials.

* Team with marketing on advertising.

* Team with sales on promotional strategies.

* Work with Operations and Freight on most efficient distribution.

* Work with Production and Quality on Quality issues.

* Coordinate sales team efforts around major meat promotions.

* Provide personal customer service for key accounts.

* Keep abreast of all trends in natural and organic industry as well as meat industry.

* Take a leadership role on the Meat Executive Team.

* Assist in scheduling meetings and setting agendas.

* Assist National Sales Director.

Qualifications
*
Experience with meat sales and marketing preferred.

* Experience in retail marketing.

* Experience in multi-faceted program development, execution, and management necessary.

* Very good written and verbal skills essential.

* Must be good on the phone and able to make cold calls with ease.

* Experience in negotiating preferred.

* Must be able to develop a budget and stick to it.

* Must be very numbers proficient.

* Developed computer skills: specifically Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

* Must show independent motivation.

* Good team player who understands process.

* Familiarity with Organic and Cooperative business a plus.
