Description
The Student Conservation Association (SCA), a national force of conservation volunteers, has an exciting opportunity in our Advancement Department. We are seeking a Western Regional Development Officer that will be located in our Oakland, CA office.
This position is responsible for designing and implementing the overall Leadership gift strategy for SCA's western region to support national, regional and local urban programs. This individual will work with a team of staff and volunteers to identify, cultivate, solicit and steward donors and prospects (individuals, foundations, and corporations) for leadership contributions of $1,000+.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in communications, business or related field
* 5+ years experience cultivating, soliciting and building relationships with volunteer leaders and major donors
* Successful track record in major gift solicitation
* Excellent verbal and written presentation skills
* Knowledge of or willingness and ability to learn Raiser's Edge Software
* Strong MS Office skills a must
* Experience in a non-profit environment
* Ability to work in a team environment with national and regional staff
* Willingness to travel and valid driver's license with MVR that meets SCA standards
