Description

Environment Now is currently seeking a talented policy and research analyst to join our team as a full-time Program Associate within our Water Program.

BACKGROUND:

Environment Now (EN) is a private foundation created in 1989 by Frank and Luanne Wells. EN's mission is to be an active leader in creating measurably effective environmental programs to protect and restore California's environment. Since inception, EN's focus has been on critical issues near the hearts of Californians and our founders: preservation of coasts and forests, and a reduction of air pollution and urban sprawl. As an activist foundation, EN directly engages in key issues affecting California's environment alongside our program partners.

EN's Water Program consists of both a Coastal Program and a Freshwater Program. The goals of these programs are:

* To eliminate pollution and degradation of California's coastal ecosystems using the waterkeeper model and by enforcing existing laws

* To ensure that California manages its water resources in an effective and equitable manner that provides a high-quality and reliable water supply to the natural environment

Together, the Freshwater and Coastal programs aim to find creative and unique solutions to California's many complex water issues. By working with academics, attorneys, policy experts, environmental advocates, government agencies, municipalities, and others, EN seeks to support measurable and lasting results that will improve California's water management strategies now and in the future.
