Position Overview:

The leading provider of insurance to the renewable energy industry is seeking an experienced equipment or services relationship/sales manager in the wind industry to use that experience to build and expand upon the existing relationships with insurance brokers and the developers, owners and operators of utility scale wind projects they represent.

Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing relationships with senior operating and financial managers involved in the selection and maintenance of insurance coverage's and services.  They will assume responsibility for several existing customer relationships as well as have accountability to develop new ones.  The position also involves coordination and institutionalization of insurer services and relationships at several levels in existing and new customer organizations. 

The successful candidate will be able to discuss fundamentals of risk allocation in equipment or service contracts among project participants.  The employer will providing training in insurance coverage and support the successful candidate in meeting jurisdictional requirements which can be reasonably met within 6 months of starting.

Finally the successful candidate will be responsible for working within existing marketing group to prepare occasional articles for industry publication and speaking at industry conferences.

Qualifications:

This is not an entry level position.  The successful candidate will be redeploying existing skills to financial service transactions that enable the development, construction and operation of utility scale wind projects.

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years engineering experience in sales and relationship management with an equipment or service provider to utility scale wind community.
  • Understanding of the operation and maintenance of utility scale wind projects and the related equipment and infrastructure.
  • A proven ability to negotiate and manage large scale contracts at a senior level.
  • Possess the leadership and drive necessary to develop creative solutions, influence people and to get things done.
  • Travel required 30-50% of time
  • Strong oral and written sales presentation skills.
  • Fluency in the application of SalesForce.com will be a plus.

Compensation: Salary commensurate with experience plus a generous benefit package. Located in Newport Beach, CA
