Vandermost Consulting Services, Inc. (VCS), a San Juan Capistrano-based firm specializing in wetlands, biological and CEQA services is seeking well-qualified individuals for the following positions:
Position Overview:
Biologist:
The preferred candidate would have a minimum of 3 years of experience in wetlands, CEQA level studies and/or endangered species work. Job duties will include wetland delineations, vegetation mapping, preparation of graphics, preparation of reports, including CEQA biological technical reports and Habitat Mitigation and Monitoring Plans.
Senior Biologist:
The preferred candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in wetlands, CEQA level studies, including vegetation mapping and/or endangered species. CRAM, MSHCP and restoration experience is a plus. Must have demonstrated ability to interact successfully with clients and manage staff effectively. Job duties will include managing and growing the biological resources division and providing biological support to the regulatory division.
Regulatory Specialist / Project Manager:
The preferred candidate must have a minimum of 3 years of experience preparing and processing U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Section 404 Permits, California Department of Fish and Game Section 1602 Streambed Alteration Agreements and Regional Water Quality Control Board Section 401 Water Quality Certifications. Job duties will include preparing and processing permits, coordination with clients and regulators and overall project management.
CEQA Practitioner:
The preferred candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience preparing and processing CEQA documents. NEPA document preparation is a plus. Job duties will include project management and preparation of CEQA/NEPA documents.
Compensation: Salary is commensurate with experience.
