Trail Project Assistant, California Field Office - Part-time temporary

Rails-to-Trails Conservancy's statewide office in San Francisco has an immediate opening for a part-time position to help us in the following areas:

  • Researching and writing features for our website and email newsletter
  • Policy research on the benefits of trails, bicycling and walking
  • Community outreach to build political support for local trails and for legislation
  • Fundraising events & grant writing
  • Administrative support

If you are seeking experience in PLANNING: Hands-on experience working with communities to plan trails and greenways. ADVOCACY: the chance to work on state and federal recreation, alternative transportation and conservation policy, NON-PROFIT MANAGEMENT: in our small organization, you'll get the chance to learn our operations from top to bottom- great experience for your future as an Executive Director! then come talk to us!

This is a part-time, temporary position; we estimate we need 15-25 hours per week for approximately 3 months.  Compensation is $10 per hour.
