Test Engineer

Position Overview:

Early-stage startup is seeking a full-time test engineer to participate in product development of optoelectronic systems for renewable energy applications, reporting to the Director of Engineering.

Responsibilities:

• Planning, building-out, equipping, and maintaining engineering laboratories and outdoor test facilities
• Assembling engineering prototypes
• Planning and conducting engineering experiments
• Collecting and analyzing test data
• Working closely with product design engineers

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or higher degree in engineering (mechanical, electrical, or optical) or science (materials science, physics, or chemistry)
• 5+ years of experience involving laboratory instruments and data acquisition systems
• Proven ability to work in a self-directed manner to achieve high-level goals with a minimum of supervision
• Good English-language communications skills
• Willingness to work in a fast-paced, rapidly-changing environment

Competitive candidates will have one or more of these additional qualifications:

• Experience using instrument control and data acquisition equipment and software (LabView or similar)
• Experience in processing silicone optical encapsulants
• Experience using SolidWorks or other parametric solid modeling software
• Computer programming skills
