In the United States, Conergy provides end-to-end solutions through two distinct highly focused channels. Our Distribution Sales Group serves a national network of installers in the residential and small commercial markets. Our Projects Group delivers turnkey, large scale solar electric systems.

Position Overview:

Technical Sales Associate is responsible for providing pre and mid-sales design and product specification support to professional contractor clients and internal sales staff, as well as direct and second level product warranty support for manufactured and distributed product. The Associate assists in developing training regimens and documentation for internal and external clients, and participates in qualification and review of new product for the sales and management teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide front line technical support to customers and sales personnel on system design and code compliance issues as they relate to quote or order development.
  • Provide technical assistance to customers and sales personnel on product-specific issues and/or troubleshooting.
  • Deliver support related to product and system installation issues.
  • Assist in training, education and interpretation of industry relevant codes and standards as they affect grid-tied PV systems, and any PV systems connected to battery storage.
  • Build quotes and orders, ensure order accuracy and quality prior to fulfillment.
  • Other tasks as assigned by management.

Organizational Relationships:

Reports to Technical Sales Manager and interacts heavily with outside/inside sales, product management, and directly with customers. There is limited interaction with customer service and logistics groups.

Qualifications:

Knowledge, skills & abilities:

  • Experienced in PV system design and component specification for both grid-tied systems, and systems incorporating battery storage.
  • Working knowledge of NEC, especially Section 690 and others as they relate to PV system design and installation.
  • Familiar with PV system construction and installation best practices.
  • Must have and maintain detailed knowledge of common products and components used in PV industry.
  • Written, verbal, and visual communication skills appropriate for conveying technical features, benefits and requirements of products and their application. Must be able to articulate complex technical information to others in an easy to understand manner.
  • Basic office computer and Internet skills, including proficiency with MS Office, are required.
  • Ability to learn and use ERP and CRM computer systems.
  • Must be organized and able to multi-task to meet deadlines in a fast-paced, high volume environment.

Minimum educational level:

  • B.A. or B.S. degree
  • NABCEP PV Installer Certification strongly preferred.

Minimum experience:

  • 2 years experience in design of PV systems to include grid-tied, off-grid, and battery-based systems.
  • Background in PV technical sales, support or customer service a strong asset.
  • Experience in remote technical issue diagnosis a plus.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to type and use telephone.
  • Travel and ability to drive an automobile may be required.
