Enovity, Inc. is a dynamic, growing, full-service energy engineering, sustainable design, and facility management firm based in San Francisco, with offices in Irvine, Sacramento, Seattle and Phoenix. 

Position Overview: 

Enovity is currently seeking a highly motivated Technical Manager for a full-time position in our San Francisco office  This candidate will have exceptional ability in the identification and evaluation of energy efficiency projects in the commercial and/or industrial sectors and will have an exceptional understanding of at least 4 of the following: steam, hot water, boiler, refrigeration, HVAC and lighting systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Technical expert and ‘Go To' person for steam, hot water, boiler, refrigeration, HVAC and lighting system energy efficiency projects.
  • Review, comment and approve technical deliverables including measurement and verification (M&V) plans, site scoping audit reports, detailed investigation reports, M&V reports.
  • Oversee a team of engineers to develop energy efficiency projects, performing the necessary tasks to take a project from initial identification and evaluation to installation and measurement and verification (M&V).  Be the technical lead and expert on more complex projects and provide technical support and review for less complex projects. 
  • Write and implement M&V plans to determine the baseline and post-installation energy performance, and oversee and QC the M&V plans of team engineers.
  • Oversee the installation of monitoring and instrumentation on a range of different systems.
  • Perform analysis to calculate the energy savings associated with recommended projects, and oversee and QC the analysis of team engineers.  
  • Determine implementation costs for energy efficiency projects, and oversee and QC the cost analysis of team engineers.
  • Write clear and concise reports, and oversee and QC the technical quality of the deliverables produced by team engineers.
  • Develop and refine energy calculation tools, document templates and procedures.
  • Work with a team of engineers, customers and contractors to identify and then develop cost-effective energy efficiency projects that meet the customer's financial and operational requirements and oversee engineers to help in the initial identification of measures and project approach. 
  • Work with a team of engineers, customers and contractors to obtain implementation proposals and review the project scope of work and technical proposal documents to make sure the project energy savings will be achieved upon implementation and customer operations are not negatively impacted. 
  • Assist in the sale of energy projects and presentation of the results to the customers to move projects toward implementation. 
  • Verify the efficiency projects are installed properly; resolve issues with contractors as needed to ensure best results and customer satisfaction. 
  • Perform energy efficiency design reviews for new construction commissioning projects. 
  • Write technical papers and present at conferences.
  • Develop and train engineers, including teaching internal classes and developing training materials.
  • Assist in the marketing of Enovity's energy efficiency programs.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering
  • California Professional Engineering license (P.E.) required

Experience:

  • Minimum of 10 years experience in energy efficiency evaluations of industrial and/or commercial systems
  • Field assessments of systems for medium/large industrial and commercial facilities
  • Installation of testing instrumentation such as flow meters, flue gas analyzers, kW meters, temperature sensors
  • Management and development of medium to large scale energy efficiency projects
  • Strong background in energy analysis
