About the Position:

PECI is looking for a Technical Manager for our Commercial Retail group to lead and manage projects and a team of mechanical engineers.   

PECI is working with several utilities and national accounts on optimizing HVAC equipment purchases, retrofits and maintenance.  The technical manager will manage innovative technical projects that bring forward the industry. 

Areas of exploration for this HVAC manager are fault diagnostics, persistence of tune-ups, economizer improvements, and new equipment possibilities.  This manager will manage innovative technical projects, determine energy savings for various HVAC measures, and be the technical liaison with utilities for new program design. 

This manager will be the liaison between program managers and technical staff and will be the hands-on manager for a small team of engineers and coordinating staff.  This person will be responsible for developing utility work papers, creating and implementing methodologies for measurement and verification, and determining energy savings for new energy conservation measures and new programs.  

This manager will represent PECI in leading edge technical forums such as CEC, PIER, and DOE groups.  Mentoring, training and developing others are critical components of the job.

Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated commitment to energy efficiency initiatives.

  • Propose and design new processes and workflows to improve efficiency and performance.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 7 years experience in project and/or program management
  • Engineering degree with experience in HVAC, preferably packaged units
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • Experience in budget and resource management for multiple projects
  • Ability to manage and absorb technical details and information from a big picture perspective
  • Ability to think and communicate creatively and strategically
  • Ability to work under pressure, with energy and enthusiasm
  • Strong problem-solving skills and issue resolution
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Results oriented; able to multi-task in a dynamic work environment
  • Proven experience in refrigeration
