Technical Coordinator

Lawler, Matusky & Skelly Engineers LLP (LMS) is a multi-disciplinary environmental sciences and engineering consulting firm. Located in Pearl River, New York (Rockland County-near the Hudson River), the firm has 100+ employees.

LMS is looking for a Technical Coordinator to supervise and provide technical oversight for a variety of field environmental projects, including environmental assessments, water quality monitoring, physical field and HazMat/air monitoring projects. Will generate schedules, coordinate staff and project tasks. Responsible for establishing protocols, mobilizing and overseeing construction of field equipment and training field crews. Will assist with the coordination of laboratory analyses including: identification of specimens, QC procedures and the processing of data. As the lead technical coordinator must stay current in the use of state-of-the-art field and lab technology.

Must have experience with a wide variety of field equipment, including: Fisheries gear, macro benthos/sediments gear, water quality instrumentation and miscellaneous survey equipment. Solid boating experience and knowledge of NYC waterways including the Long Island Sound is required.

Must have experience with project management to properly ensure the availability of personnel, equipment, boats and vehicles. Experience contributing to or generating technical reports is required. PC skills, including competency in WORD & Excel are needed. BS in Biology, Environmental Science & 5-7 yrs exp or MS (preferred) and 3-4 yrs experience.
