This Nation wide firm seeks Sustainable Manager/Specialist  for our Long Beach Corporate Office.  This is a Senior Level career opportunity.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead development of company policy and standards for sustainable practices - internal and external.
  • Provide LEED administration and documentation for projects.
  • Help select appropriate materials, construction details and systems.
  • Develop and maintain a working knowledge of coordination process between architect and client, governmental agencies, tenant, and consultants.
  • Organize internal workshops and "Lunch & Learns" dedicated to sustainable education.
  • Collaborate with Librarian to establish GREEN literature and maintain the LEED workbooks.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing Department to promote Perkowitz+Ruth Architects sustainable vision.
  • Advocate and promote education towards LEED AP.
  • Attend local/national workshops and participate in panels/roundtable discussions representing Perkowitz+Ruth Architects on sustainability.

Qualifications:

Professional architectural or engineering degree from an accredited University preferred, LEED accreditation.

  • Minimum of 7 years experience in architecture, engineering, landscape architecture -or- 5 sustainable design related field.
  • Experience in at least 2 LEED certified projects.
  • Knowledge of BIM application and IFC data exchange.
  • Familiar with technical terminology of the architectural and construction industry.
  • Proficiency in the following applications is desirable:  Energy modeling, electric lighting, daylight modeling, and life cycle costing.
  • Possess a knowledge of civil, landscape, mechanical, electrical, and other systems as they relate to sustainable design.
  • Versed in California non-residential Title 24 Energy Efficiency codes is desirable.
  • Knowledge of day lighting, storm water management, and commissioning.
  • Local and international knowledge of energy code requirements.
  • Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office:  Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.
  • Travel: Up to 25%
