ECW Environmental Group, LLC (ECW Environmental) is a progressive environmental consulting company that delivers high quality, cost effective environmental support to clients.
Our focus and expertise is with sustainability planning/ISO 14001 environmental management systems; environmental impact analysis, planning, mitigation/monitoring, and documentation - primarily National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) analyses; natural resources surveys and plans; environmental site assessments; environmental integration with mission/ITAM, and documentation.
Job Duties:
Develop, coordinate, and implement the ISO 14001 conformant Sustainable Management System (SMS) at Fort Benning, Georgia. Work on-site with other environmental professionals in the Environmental Management Division.
Develop ISO 14001 SMS implementation plan and schedule; documentation of SMS roles, responsibilities and procedures; development of SMS manual; coordination of meetings, training sessions, and briefings.
Sustainability Management System Training and Facilitation:
Coordinate training and facilitation of SMS training and Cross-Functional Team (CFT) meetings. Develop documentation/records management for SMS training. Provide briefings and/or informal sustainable design/SPiRiT training to installation staff as needed.
Sustainable Planning Integration:
Assist with the installation sustainability program. Review proposed construction, maintenance and/or operations actions for conformity with ISO 14001 EMS, Army sustainable design, and related requirements. Inform Fort Benning Environmental Management Division of any new sustainable design policies or requirements. Assist project planners through attendance at project planning meetings, design charrettes and mitigation planning. Check project's Sustainable Project Rating Tool score to verify that the maximum cost-effective rating is achieved. Provide assistance in adding points to the project's sustainability rating whenever feasible. Work with Corps of Engineers sustainable design experts to provide training on the benefits of high performance building and LEED/SPiRiT requirements.

Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in environmental management, environmental sciences, natural resources management, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Experience and practical knowledge in multiple environmental program areas is important for this position.
- Desire someone with professional training in, and/or good knowledge of, ISO 14001 Environmental Mamagement Systems or environmental auditing procedures.
- Desire someone with knowledge of US Green Building Council's Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) or similar sustainable design systems, Federal environmental laws and regulations, and pollution prevention programs.
- Proficiency with MS Office software. Ability to build, maintain, and assist in leading a team and serving as an effective facilitator/coordinator is a key factor.
- Good communication skills is a must -- the successful candidate works with diverse people to help lead them to a common environmental goals.
