Time Equities, Inc. is seeking an intern to support our sustainable facility operations, corporate sustainability, and green building work.
Time Equities is a real estate company owning roughly 22 million square feet in the U.S., Canada, and Germany, and is implementing a number of strategic sustainability initiatives portfolio-wide.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate should have a focus and background in sustainability, environmental strategy, energy efficiency, building systems, and/or environmental science.
A general understanding of sustainable facility operations, experience in carbon footprint calculation, and/or the use of EPA Portfolio Manager (Energy Star) is preferred. A strong understanding of carbon footprint accounting tools is highly desirable. Strong writing skills and analytical abilities (in Excel) is critical.
Preferably, the candidate is a LEED Accredited Professional and has LEED project experience. Lastly, the candidate should have strong organizational skills, be highly self-motivated, and detail-oriented.
This position will require working independently as well as closely with building operators, property managers, and asset managers in various locations throughout the U.S. and Canada.
Preferred technical knowledge and experience:
- Carbon footprint accounting tools (preferably World Resource Institute and EPA Climate Leaders)
- Life cycle analysis
- Cost-benefit analysis
- EPA's Energy Star Portfolio Manager
- Energy efficiency in buildings
- LEED project coordination and management
Details: Full or Part Time. Flexible hours and timeframe. Location: Union Square, Manhattan.
Salary:
Unpaid. Because the position is unpaid Time Equities is willing to work with you to design the internship to fit the needs of your curriculum or degree program. We are happy to provide the necessary support to obtain either academic credit and/or grant funding for the project. The position could evolve into a paid position.
