Position Overview

The Sustainability Project Manager will be located in Northern CA and will report to the service line Sustainability Manager.  You will help manage our commercial, government and residential sustainability projects.

  • Make an Impact – In this highly visible role, the incumbent will oversee and manage sustainability projects throughout the western U.S. to ensure Green Building and LEED requirements are being met. You will not only be part of improving the quality of their buildings, but impacting the bottom line of Healthy Buildings as well.

Responsibilities

You will have multiple tasks and cross-functional initiatives to include, but not limited to, the following: manage ongoing sustainability projects currently underway; manage future sustainability projects from inception to close out; support the sales team as a subject matter expert; communicate the progress of projects to the executive team; identify and evaluate new programs and vertical markets; manage client relationships; and in time provide internal training as the Team grows.

You will develop and deliver presentations, facilitate team and client support, and manage project tasks with minimal oversight. You will efficiently manage your time to deliver high quality products to clients and team members. You enjoy problem solving and can work effectively with multiple, simultaneous requests from team members and clients.

Typical projects will include, but not limited to:

  • LEED certification, WELL building standard assessment and consulting and BREEAM USA assessment and consulting, GreenPoint Rated, BOMA 360, Fitwel, Green Globes and GRESB.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Be an active member in your local BOMA and USGBC chapter (holding a leadership position in a committee is preferred)
  • Attend and present at all local major industry events and conferences
  • Attend sustainability trainings and meetings
  • Exceed monthly and annual revenue targets
  • Manage expenses responsibly
  • Participate in the company Green Team to help develop and implement internal corporate sustainability initiatives
  • Ensure our CRM (SalesForce.com) is kept up to date, including (but not limited to):
  • Client information
  • Customer relations/activity
  • Report time and expenses in a timely manner
  • Project progress

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; and 2-3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Required:

  • LEED AP (BD+C)
  • 2+ years working as LEED BD+C Project Manager or Administrator
  • Ability to facilitate a Design Charrette
  • Acted as the LEED Project Manager on at least 3 LEED projects
  • Completed at least 1 LEED v4 BD+C project
  • Have a background in architecture, construction management, engineer, or other related discipline
  • Experience reading construction plans and specifications
  • Experience reviewing submittals for LEED contributions and/or compliance

Preferred:

  • 5+ years working as a LEED BD+C Project Manager or Administrator
  • Has completed at least one LEED for Health Care project
  • Has completed at least one LEED v4 BD+C project
  • Has experience working on WELL, Fitwel, BREEAM, and/or all LEED rating systems
  • WELL AP

Additional Requirements:

  • Ability to travel up to 20%
  • Competency in Microsoft programs
  • Proficiency with Adobe and/or Bluebeam
