Position Overview:
TÜV Rheinland is a leading international technical service provider. Our goal is to be the world's best independent provider of technical services for testing, inspection, certification, consultation and training.
Since 1872, we have been developing solutions to ensure the safety, quality and economic efficiency of the interaction between man, technology and the environment.
TÜV Rheinland has recently expanded its services to include sustainability and corporate responsibility strategy consulting. The Manager position will work closely with the Director of Sustainability Services to identify and develop new relationships and business opportunities within the field, as well as managing projects for existing clients.
Responsibilities:
Business Development
- Maintain thorough and detailed knowledge of TÜV's services in order to communicate these services to potential clients.
- Utilize a variety of sales techniques including cold calls, trade show leads, network connections, and industry contacts.
- Promote TÜV services through the identification and development of new growth and business opportunities through acquisition of new clients or through additional revenues from existing clients.
- Determine and implement marketing strategies to increase business.
- Analyze and research market data and trends to identify markets for new clients; review market conditions and direction; create marketing plans; and develop understanding of target clients' business perspectives and issues.
- Make calls, have face-to-face meetings, and develop and deliver sales presentations to various levels of potential client management.
- Recruit, quote, negotiate the terms of agreement, and close new business deals. Will have goals/quotas to fulfill and will be evaluated on the achievement/failure of these goals.
Sustainability Consulting
- Execute and deliver high-quality results to clients (e.g. benchmarking reports, assurance and audit statements, stakeholder engagement plans, materiality processes, corporate-wide strategic sustainability programs, etc.)
- Provide organized, detailed, project management ensuring customer is informed and satisfied throughout the project, and that deliverables are completed on time.
- Create and deepen collaborative relationships with key client contacts.
- Run client meetings at all stages of the project, structuring content to achieve key objectives.
- Think outside the box to bring our clients innovative, comprehensive, and strategic solutions.
- Other services may include research, thought-leadership writing, leading trainings, etc.
Qualifications:
- Sustainability knowledge and/or prior sustainable business strategy consulting experience.
- Must be articulate, professional, and be customer service oriented.
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
- Must have ability to thrive in a fast paced environment, work effectively under pressure, prioritize, and multi-task.
- Must have excellent analytical skills.
- Ability to interface with all levels of client organizations.
- Highly organized, driven, hardworking, and passionate about making change.
- Advanced knowledge of MS Office.
- Ability to travel significant amount of time, including internationally (Valid Passport and Driver's License required.)
Education
- Bachelor's Degree required. Graduate level degree required in Sustainability, Marketing, Business, Law or a technical discipline such as Engineering, Ecology, etc. desirable.
- Equivalent education and experience will be considered.
Experience
- 6-10 years of consulting experience as well as progressive marketing and sales experience.
- Significant travel, 50-75%.
