Position Overview: 

Growing Dallas based design practice is seeking a Sustainability Manager to lead our efforts to become a premier sustainability advisor. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated architecture / engineering professional passionate about sustainability and educated in sustainable design and the LEED certification process. Additionally, candidates should be confident leaders capable of motivating team members to embrace a sustainable philosophy that is reflected in day-to-day actions and in project designs.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinating with design teams, contractors and owners to implement sustainability throughout the design and construction process, from conceptual design through construction administration
  • Develop and implement sustainability standards for the design and construction process
  • Management of the LEED certification process, and other agency certification processes, related to achievements in sustainability on building projects
  • Utilization of current software such as Ecotect, to assess building performance as part of the design process and continue to evaluate sustainability related software  
  • Support the development and execution of a marketing program promoting the firm's sustainability expertise and approach to incorporating sustainability into building projects
  • Participation in organizations focused on environmental responsibility related to design and construction (e.g. USGBC) in a meaningful role
  • Championing efforts to increase the number of LEED APs in the firm and generating enthusiasm around sustainable design within the firm
  • Leading an internal green committee in implementing responsible sustainable processes in day-to-day office operations

Qualifications:

  • LEED Accredited Professional
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit and Ecotect (preferred)
  • Ability to inspire teammates to embrace new concepts and a philosophies related to sustainability and other firm goals
