Position Overview: 

Live Nation seeks an intelligent, tenacious, innovative individual to help Live Nation's Northern California region reach its goals for environmental sustainability. In 2006, Live Nation launched an ambitious pilot sustainability program in San Francisco, focused on reducing the environmental impact of its events and operations. Live Nation recognizes that "going green" is an ongoing process and the organization is committed to being a leader in sustainability. The Live Nation Sustainability Coordinator will work with facilities, marketing, and management staff to take this program to the next level.

Live Nation is looking for a motivated professional with a background in business or environmental advocacy to manage our sustainability program for 1 to 2 years.  This is an excellent position for a person with experience in a professional setting who has a passion for environmental issues. This position will report to the Chairman of the region and will serve as the "green" liaison between the facilities management, accounting, marketing, and sales groups. The Coordinator will be working with a small team in a dynamic environment that will include detail-oriented independent work.

Responsibilities:

Includes the following and other duties as assigned:

  • Lead the tracking of key sustainability metrics, including data gathering, compilation, and analysis.
  • Manage a sustainability database and provide reports and information as needed.
  • Develop an annual Sustainability Report that communicates key activities and information about Live Nation's environmental impact.
  • Assist the management and facilities teams in researching and prioritizing infrastructure improvements and other ideas to reduce Live Nation's environmental impact.
  • Work with facilities and other teams to move from concept to implementation on selected "greening" activities.
  • Coordinate conference calls, internal and external meetings, workshops, and interviews as necessary to gather information and communicate Live Nation's sustainability commitments.
  • Help plan and implement events related to Live Nation's sustainability program.
  • Research and synthesize new information and data on environmental impacts, CO2 offsets, and green technologies.
  • Act as a spokesperson for sustainability inside the organization and encourage a culture that supports sustainability and ongoing improvement.

Qualifications:

The successful applicant will have the following minimum qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • 2+ years experience in a professional office-based organization.
  • Understanding of the environmental sustainability issues facing for-profit corporations. Experience working on sustainability, carbon footprinting, or corporate social responsibility a plus.
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently with minimal supervision.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Creative, resourceful, and professional.
  • Excellent research, analytical, and writing skills.
  • Competence in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, database tools.
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritize, multitask, and be flexible.
  • Capacity to learn quickly and handle ambiguous information and circumstances.
  • A passion for environmental issues.

Term length:

This is a 1 year contract position, with the option to extend to a 2nd year after the initial 6 months.

Compensation: This is a contractor position and does not include benefits. Compensation commensurate with experience.
