Position Overview:

The Chesapeake Bay Foundation seeks a Stream Buffer Specialist based out of Cumberland and Franklin Counties and travel throughout south-central PA will be required. This is a grant funded term position.

Stream Buffer Specialist provides technical assistance for restoration projects with direct interaction with landowners and related project partners. A majority of work is focused on project implementation with related duties of a variety of types to advance CBF's work in stream and wetland restoration.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical assistance on restoration projects via various programs run by CBF and partners - this task will be the primary duty of this position.
  • Perform related tasks to advance CBF restoration efforts including outreach to promote work, data collection to assess effectiveness of restoration and restoration methods, work with partners to advance restoration - agencies, watershed groups, sportsman groups, etc., maintain accurate records of project work, coordinate with partners as needed for grant delivery.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree or experience commensurate.
  • Ability to use computers and applications relevant to conservation is expected.
  • Good familiarity with production agriculture is very valuable.
