PECI is an energy efficiency consulting agency that designs and implements energy efficiency programs and research for utility companies and governmental agencies. Founded in 1980 and headquartered in Portland, Oregon, PECI has a longstanding tradition of pairing innovation with practicality to deliver customized energy solutions in building commissioning, retrocommissioning, and new construction with focus on HVAC, refrigeration, lighting, and appliances. 

Position Overview:

PECI is looking for a Strategic Marketing Coordinator to support the development and execution of marketing and communication plans for utility clients. This position will support strategy development, tactical planning and implementation; including managing timely and within-budget delivery of printed collateral, copywriting, advertising placements, event participation, website content, and promotional materials.

This will entail all aspects of researching and evaluating opportunities, logistical coordination, budgeting, results tracking and reporting, creative development, and oversight of the production process. Responsibilities also include reporting on marketing effectiveness.

Candidates should have at least 3 years experience supporting the development of strategic marketing plans and delivering a broad range of marketing and outreach campaigns. Experience working with multiple stakeholders is required. Industry background in energy, sustainability or environmental programs is a plus.

The ideal candidate will have proven success in supporting the development and implementation of marketing plans, strategies and tactics. Strong strategic thinking, research, analysis, planning, communications, and organizational skills are a must. Successful candidates will be able to work in a fast-paced environment, are innovative, creative, highly organized, nimble and comfortable multi-tasking, detail- and solution-oriented and team-focused.

Responsibilities:

  • Create strategic and tactical marketing and public relations plans for multiple utility and government energy-efficiency programs
  • Coordinate the implementation of these plans, including development of strategies and tactics, completion of deliverables, results assessment, tracking and reporting
  • Coordinate events including research, evaluation and tracking of industry/community event opportunities and logistical execution of client participation
  • Develop and implement promotions and campaigns including copywriting
  • Coordinate media outreach including opportunity assessment, negotiating advertising contracts and placing ad materials
  • Analyze and track budget and performance data and report on marketing effectiveness
  • Conduct and coordinate market research to inform strategic planning and goal setting

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 3 years experience in strategic marketing development and project management required
  • Excellent copywriting and editing skills required
  • Ability to think and communicate creatively and strategically  
  • Ability to interpret and apply market research data to strategic plans
  • Demonstrated ability to work with multiple clients and projects simultaneously
  • Ability to work under pressure, with energy and enthusiasm 
  • Flexible to work with a variety of staff meeting dynamic project demands
