Position Overview  

As a member of the Technology department, the Staff Engineer is responsible for the development of testing plans as well as report generation. The Staff Engineer will also be responsible for research of new and existing technologies and explain how those will impact current and future business activities. The primary purpose of the Staff Engineer is to support the Corporate Technical needs.

Responsibilities 

  • Interfaces with customers and vendors directly at a high level with professionalism.
  • In depth knowledge and understanding of UHP chemical delivery.
  • Generate project proposals, design of experiments, and reports.
  • Works on several projects with complex features.
  • Capable of developing concepts quickly and able to drive to realization.
  • This position requires excellent presentation skills and concept development skills.
  • Complete understanding of Intellectual Property protection.
  • Develop publications regarding technology and process improvements and innovation. 

Qualifications 

Required Skills: 

  • FEA and CFD software tool use (SolidWorks Simulation preferred).
  • SolidWorks (preferred), Pro-E, Inventor, UG, AutoCAD CAD platforms experience.
  • MS Office.
  • PDM environment.
  • Electrical knowledge.
  • Familiarity with SEMI standards.
  • Top notch presentation skills with diverse audiences. 

Preferred Skills & Abilities: 

  • Machine shop practices.
  • Sheetmetal design and fabrication skills.
  • Cable fabrication and soldering skills.
  • Familiarity with UHP welding technology and equipment.
  • Experience in materials compatibility with semiconductor manufacture source and exhaust chemistries analysis.
  • Experience in interpreting corrosion issues and analysis.
  • Knowledge of specialty stainless steel alloys used in the semiconductor industry.
  • Project management experience. 

Educational/Certification Requirement: 

  • BSME from ABET accredited Engineering school with a focus on fluid mechanics.
  • MS Mechanical Engineering Materials Science preferred. 

Work Experience: 

  • Expert understanding of MFC, valve, filter, regulator, etc. function, performance characteristics, and limitations.
  • Mechanism design and failure analysis.
  • Heat transfer coursework and hands on experience.
  • Basic electrical engineering (cables, power supplies, etc.)
  • Test lab experience.
  • Familiarity with LabVIEW and data acquisition system set-up and use.
  • 8+ year of experience in related manufacturing/ production position.
  • Ultra High Purity chemical delivery equipment design and development.
  • Familiarity with and/or direct experience in semiconductor CVD and Etch processes.
