Position Overview:

Interacts with established customers and develops new prospects to expand business opportunities.

Responsibilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned.

  • Establishes and maintains a high level of customer satisfaction, and resolves escalated and unique customer issues.
  • Creates and investigates new accounts and opportunities. Drafts proposals, negotiates contracts, develops sound marketing plans, and maintains key information in the prospect database.
  • Matches Waste Management services with customer needs by demonstrating highly advanced knowledge of customers, pricing and competition; effectively communicates pricing and service strategies; proactively engages other Waste Management business opportunities, referring internally as appropriate.
  • Effectively uses Waste Management sales productivity software tools (i.e. Prospect and Customer Database, Proposal Program, Pricing Tools, etc.).
  • Processes data and generates highly complex reports regarding sales results, sales force earnings and market conditions.
  • Communicates progress and status with business partners and senior management. Supports National accounts on basic projects.
  • Proposes highly complex customer solutions that are compliant with appropriate local, state and federal regulations.
  • May provide support and direction to less experienced Sourcing Sales Representatives.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This job has no supervisory duties, but may occasionally act as a team lead.

Qualifications:

The requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications necessary to perform the job.

A. Education and Experience:

Required: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Sales/Marketing, Business Administration or similar area of study, and 5+ years of previous experience.

Preferred: Master's Degree or equivalent experience in Sales/Marketing, Business Administration or similar area of study, and 5+ years of previous experience.

B. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Other Requirements:

None required.

C. Other Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required:

Outside sales, contract negotiation, and customer service skills required.
