Position Overview

The main purpose of the Solar Renewable Energy Analyst role is to participate in the wind energy and resource modeling, independent engineering, and review of renewable energy projects and portfolios. Perform project management support activities as requested.

Through this role, you and the analytics team will provide wind energy and resource modeling, independent engineering, and review of renewable energy projects and portfolios. The role commands a broad perspective and acute ability to prioritize according to client needs while developing an understanding of energy yield estimation.

The team has a varied and challenging workload ranging in both technology and scale from individual projects to multi-GW portfolios and including onshore wind, solar, storage, and offshore wind projects. If you are educated to degree level in a numeric or scientific subject and have previous demonstrable experience in a solar related analytical role, including performance engineering our Solar Renewable Energy Analyst position could be just the role you're looking for.

Responsibilities 

  • Conduct long-term solar resource and energy production assessments
  • Analyze production data
  • Write technical reports and communicate with Clients
  • Advise clients on the most appropriate route to meet their objectives
  • Assist with the co-preparation and delivery of tenders/bids/quotes
  • Communicate effectively within the department, other colleagues, and clients, in order for business and project objectives to be realized. Provide support to colleagues as required
  • Support all business development activities and generation of leads where possible
  • Take an active involvement in R&D groups, providing resource to ensure R&D projects are progressed
  • Stay up to date with developments in tools/methods/assumptions at Industry level
  • The postholder may be required to travel

Key Qualifications

  • Undergraduate or post-graduate degree in engineering/numerical/atmospheric science/technical/scientific/computer discipline
  • Evidence of previous solar analytical experience, including an understanding of resource variability, loss evaluation, and uncertainty analysis
  • Solar performance engineering experience
  • Fluent in English, excellent communication, and interpersonal skills (written and oral)
  • Highly IT literate and detail oriented
  • Health and Safety conscious
  • Ability to maintain a high level of quality while working under pressure
  • Flexible approach to be able to manage tasks concurrently, and to be handle short order pieces of work Show initiative to solve problems and provide innovative ideas
  • Self-motivated, organized and confident attitude to work with the ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • 1-5 years solar energy generation analysis experience
