We are focused on providing great customer service and making sure your solar power system is professionally installed for maximum efficiency and reliability. ~

Solar panel installation can be confusing. Ecohouse Solar evaluates properties and electric use to assess whether or not solar panels are right for customers' homes or businesses. If we determine that solar is a good fit, we design a surprisingly affordable custom solar power systems to fit customers' needs. We will help them understand the many details involved in making an investment in solar power. 

Our cutomers are proud of their solar power investment for many years to come as it cuts electric bills while using renewable energy that's good for the environment.  

Position Overview  

Ecohouse Solar, based in Columbus, Ohio, is seeking a full-time construction manager to lead installations of PV systems, generally ranging from 5kW to 100kW, primarily residential.  Ecohouse Solar prides itself on being friendly, full-service and high quality, and works solely in the Central Ohio area.   

Responsibilities 

Construction planning: 

  • Evaluation of products, suppliers and contractors;
  • Internal consultation on system design and construction sequencing; and
  • Ordering and coordination of panels, inverters, balance of system and sub-contractors (electricians, engineers). 

On-site construction management: 

  • Scheduling of jobs and associated labor, materials, and contractors; 
  • Direction of site labor on daily tasks; and
  • Ensuring high quality installation and safety. 

Construction paperwork: 

  • Coordinating engineering review, permitting, contractor registrations, and inspections. 

Labor: 

  • Daily labor on all aspects of installation. 

Qualifications  

Knowledge, skills and abilities: 

  • Specific knowledge of products, including panels, inverters, optimizers, and balance of system.
  • Understanding of all aspects of installation, including racking, panel installation, and wiring.
  • Ability to operate equipment (e.g., trenching, lifts), power hand tools, ladders, harnesses, and electrical tools.
  • Knowledge of pitched roof, flat roof, and ground-mount installation.
  • Experience with grid tie-in and final commissioning.
  • Knowledge of National Electrical Code (DC and AC) and solar industry best practices.
  • Able to lift in excess of 70 lbs, perform rigorous physical labor, ability to work on pitched roofs, and willingness to work in all weather.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Self-motivated, customer satisfaction oriented, and passionate about solar.
