Citizens for Pennsylvania's Future (PennFuture) is seeking a new solar program director in its Pittsburgh office. The solar program director is responsible for managing all aspects of a new, comprehensive solar program focused in Allegheny County aiming to encourage 15 MW of installed solar energy throughout the county by 2015.
Position Overview:
The program seeks to provide a portal for consumers and integrators/providers of solar energy products and projects; to identify and eliminate barriers at all levels of the processes; and to ultimately elevate solar PV installations within Allegheny County to 15 MW or more within the timeframe. The program director will work with a team including energy policy experts, attorneys, outreach staff and media professionals. This is a demanding, fast-paced position in a dynamic and highly effective organization.
Responsibilities:
Duties specific to the solar program director include:
- Establishing a program plan, timeline, identity and advisory teams;
- Developing and maintaining key partnerships with local government, financial partners, solar energy integrators and regional product providers, and relevant organizations;
- Providing extensive, targeted education, outreach and marketing countywide; and
- Performing policy and market analyses on an ongoing basis.
Qualifications:
Applicants should have at least a bachelor's degree and a minimum of 8 years of relevant professional experience. Knowledge of solar energy products, mechanics of residential and small commercial solar PV systems and their installations, Pennsylvania's renewable energy credit markets and project financing are important. The ideal candidate has a passion for this and other key issues of the organization, strong abilities to communicate effectively with diverse audiences, and a proven capacity for program management.
Familiarity with Allegheny County and the surrounding region as well as renewable energy policy and market issues are essential.
Compensation: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 (Yearly Salary). This is a full-time position. Position funding is available for a minimum of 2 years. PennFuture offers a full benefits package.
