Description
HR Green, Inc. works as a clean energy project developer but primarily serves as an engineer, procurement, and construction (EPC) entity to complete clean energy projects for clients.
Position Overview:
HR Green is currently seeking a Practice Leader in the area of photovoltaic solar energy systems. The position reports directly to the President of the Energy Business Line. The ideal candidate will have project finance experience and be able to originate, negotiate, structure, close, and execute on photovoltaic projects in the United States.
Candidate must possess understanding of both the regulated and deregulated utilities markets and understand the implications of those markets on the economics of PV solar projects. Interconnection agreement experience as well as familiarity with various power purchase agreement arrangements is a must.
Candidate should have a general understanding of various state renewable portfolio standards and which markets are providing incentives to solar project developers. Knowledge of state and federal incentive programs as well as renewable energy certificate (REC) and solar renewable energy certificate (SRECs) pricing is required.
This is a newly created position and will require an individual with national solar project execution experience.
Qualifications:
Must have a B.S. in Engineering or related field. MBA is preferred. Candidate should have a general understanding of various state renewable portfolio standards and which markets are providing incentives to solar project developers. Knowledge of state and federal incentive programs as well as renewable energy certificate (REC) and solar renewable energy certificate (SRECs) pricing is required.
Candidate must understand EPC contracts and the risks that accompany the EPC model. The ideal candidate must be comfortable in working directly with banks, institutional investors, joint-venture partners, and legal teams to manage the funding of projects for HR Green or its clients. The candidate will facilitate the development of term sheets, financing documents, and contracts associated with solar project financings.
