4BestSolar is a Solar Systems Developer focused on commercial and complex residential design and build projects. Our owners have a combined 60 years of operational, general contracting and environmental services management experience. We currently service all of New Jersey from our Robbinsville, NJ office.

Position Overview:

The responsibilities of the Construction Project Manager encompass a wide range of design, installation, construction, and financial aspects required to develop and demonstrate rapid-deployment style construction solutions and substantiating their costs.

We are looking for a candidate with strong, creative problem-solving skills and a proven ability to achieve results in a dynamic changing environment. The candidate should be self-motivated and self-directed. This person must have demonstrated ability to work well with a diverse range of people.

Responsibilities:

Primary responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Define and organize commercial construction related projects.
  • Lead project proposal preparation, including project planning, building permit application packages and submittal.
  • Manage projects during all phases of construction: Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Commissioning and Turnover.
  • Responsible for job site safety, including change and risk management.
  • Lead, develop and monitor contract evaluation and compliance.
  • Review and release Bill of Materials (BOMs).
  • Monitor project (KPI) key performance indicators and provide periodic installation supervision.
  • Create scopes of work for subcontractors, local labor pools, and bid solicitation.
  • Project Correspondence (i.e. transmittals, RFIs, meeting minutes, progress reports etc.).
  • Ability to manage customer relations and communications, including punch list management.
  • Support or manage construction quality control activities.
  • Contribute with the standardization of processes, and the creation of templates to be used with different system types.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and be willing to travel within the region.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will possess the following combination of education and experience:

  • BS degree in Construction or Electrical Engineering or equivalent work experience, and a minimum of 5-6 years in a commercial construction-related role is required (PV projects experience preferred).
  • Demonstrated expertise in installation of solar PV systems.
  • Familiarity with NABCEP, as well as local building codes for electric and building construction.
  • Ability to read architectural mechanical and electrical drawings.
  • Experience managing multiple sub contractors, including jobsite and contracted workforce.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office suites specifically; Excell, Word and Outlook
  • Must demonstrate strong engineering, design, and communication skills, and an ability to work in a dynamic team environment to think and solve traditional problems in new ways.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Excellent analytical ability, communication skills (written and oral).
  • Experience preparing ad hoc reports and presentations.
  • Highly motivated with demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment.
