Position Overview:

IFC's Sustainability Business Innovator (SBI) Facility is looking for a highly motivated Short-Term Consultant (STC) who is a skilled Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Analyst with project management skills and ideally a background in environmental and social sustainability.

The Analyst will help implement the SBI Facility's M&E work program including communications and outreach activities. The STC position will also provide general support to the SBI M&E and portfolio management team, including strategic input on the program's work-plan and administrative tasks.

Responsibilities: 

Details of Work The work will include:

  • Managing ongoing evaluations within the SBI
  • Ongoing input to IFC project cycle supervision including
  • Early Review and Approval for new projects
  • Analysis and collection of results from biannual
  • Supervision Reports
  • Compilation of lessons learned from previous supervision cycle
  • Continuation of M&E Audit of existing portfolio
  • Ongoing R&D of M&E methodologies and indicators specific to the Environment and Social Sustainability Department
  • Support data collection for a Quarterly Portfolio Report to SBI Manager
  • Developing communication tools and material for access on an SBI M&E website Skills

Qualifications: 

This assignment will require previous experience with monitoring and evaluation, excellent analytical skills (with an emphasis on design and implementation of SBI-related projects/products) as well as superior writing and project management skills. Strong communication skills, are ideal. Knowledge of corporate environmental and social responsibility, including gender and diversity elements, will be a distinct advantage.

Location: The work is based in IFC's headquarters in Washington, DC. Time-frame: The STC position is for approximately 100 days starting mid to late December 2008. The work is full time (5 days a week).
