Position Overview:

We are looking for a smart, driven Senior Technical Consultant who are detail-oriented and love working with customers to build lasting solutions. You will partner with utility clients as a database expert to enable them to provide data files according to OPOWER's data transfer standards. This is a critical role as our high-growth company continues to implement with more and more utilities. This is an ideal job for someone who is a well-rounded consultant with extensive experience using SQL and designing and using large databases. This position requires 40% travel to client sites.

Responsibilities:

• Participate in pre-sales client meetings to understand client systems and explain OPOWER's data requirements
• Work with our utility company partners to extract data from their systems according to OPOWER's data transfer standards
• Travel to client sites to work directly with IT teams to quickly extract and provide data files to OPOWER
• Develop a deep understanding of utility systems and data
• Work with OPOWER vendors to develop data extraction solutions for our utility clients

Qualifications:

• You enjoy working directly with clients and have a technical consulting background
• You are a master of SQL/MySQL and databases (with knowledge of ETL concepts)
• You love to surf through large amounts of data to find and explain anomalies
• You have experience working for a technical consulting firm, preferably with utility or other regulated entities
• You are familiar with utility CIS, MDMS, and AMI/AMR systems
• You are detail-oriented, methodical, and a perfectionist
• You function well in a fast-paced, informal environment where constant change is the norm and the bar for quality is set high
