Senior Regulatory Specialist

Normandeau Associates, Inc., an employee-owned environmental consulting firm specializing in water and natural resources issues, is seeking a Senior Regulatory Specialist/Wetland Scientist in our Falmouth, ME office.

Position Overview:

This position provides oversight and management of multidisciplinary project teams, regulatory advice and consultation to clients, and preparation and assembly of State and Federal permit applications. The successful candidate should have a thorough understanding of State and Federal rules and regulations, and prior experience with the wind power industry is strongly preferred.

Experience conducting and/or managing large scale field survey efforts involving wetlands delineations and vernal pool surveys, wildlife evaluations, and rare species investigations are a plus. Understanding and experience with regulations for other New England states, particularly Massachusetts and New Hampshire, is also advantageous.

Additional job responsibilities would include proposal development, budgeting, business strategy formulation, and other marketing and management activities. Travel is required.

Qualifications:

Qualified candidates should have M.S. in an environmental field, or a JD degree with a minimum of 5 years prior experience working on projects in New England is preferred. Strong writing and verbal communication skills are essential, along with a high degree of comfort with computers and technology, a willingness to learn new skills and flexibility in work assignments. Candidates should be able to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship.
