Position Overview:
DTA is currently seeking a Senior Regulatory Specialist for our Toronto, Ontario, office.

Responsibilities:
- Working in a group environment setting to support for a variety of complex assignments.
- Preparing, editing and reviewing technical sections for environmental assessments, environmental impact statements, resources reports and permit applications, biological assessments and other miscellaneous environmental/regulatory documents.
- Providing leadership and project management from proposal through study design, data collection and reporting.
- Coordinating the permitting process through various governmental agencies with goal of securing required governmental approvals for projects.
- Assisting in the preparation of permitting documents and advising of deficiencies in the applications.
- Participation in public hearings and make recommendations related to evaluation of the project and of any outstanding issues.
Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
- A Bachelor's Degree in an environmental or related field is required.
- Master's Degree is considered an asset.
- Technical expertise in a related discipline (aquatics, water resources, wildlife, vegetation, soils, etc.) is required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in conducting comprehensive and screening level environmental impact assessments, preparing regulatory applications for approvals, land use permitting, and public consultation.
- Sound working knowledge of provincial and federal environmental permitting regulations is required.
- Technical writing skills and the ability to coordinate and interact with co-workers, project staff, various clients and government agencies.
- Consulting experience is an asset.
- Requires strong communication, interpersonal and multitasking skills.
