Senior Project Manager, EPC Wind/Solar

Position Overview:

This position is for a Senior Project Manager having extensive project management experience in executing medium/high voltage substation and/or power users medium voltage design-build projects from inception to completion, particularly in wind and solar. The Senior Project Manager will lead, direct, and coordinate the efforts of a design-build team consisting of design engineers, CAD Operators, procurement personnel, field technicians, a contracts administrator, construction and testing subcontractors, and commissioning personnel.

The position requires experience in substation and/or power user type construction projects involving medium and high voltage equipment, construction scheduling, estimating, contracts administration, construction documentation, technical supervision, and contractor relationships. The person for this position must be a motivated team player, detail oriented, and one who enjoys undertaking challenges and building relationships with clients.

Responsibilities:

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Developing project scopes and schedules with customers in the utility and power users markets
• Preparing and negotiating customer and subcontractor contracts
• Planning the design and construction approach
• Establishing budgets and monitoring and controlling project financials
• Coordinating the actions of teams members through regular team meetings
• Assuring compliance with quality control procedures
• On-site management during construction
• Developing and maintaining good customer relationships
• Regular travel to customer sites in the US and Canada

Qualifications:

To select this job as one of interest to you, at a minimum, you must have the following:

• Knowledge and experience in electrical substation design, construction and project management.
• B.S.E.E degree or equivalent experience
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software: Word, Excel, Outlook and Project
• Minimum 8 years of experience in the power utility industry of which 3 years are related to project management
• Over 5 years significant project management experience with a utility or consultant as it relates to design-build type projects involving medium/high voltage substations.
