Description
An environmental and ecological consulting firm is seeking a Senior Project Manager to work in its Tampa, Florida office. The firm focuses on natural resources and related issues. The successful candidate will have 10-20 years of experience in the environmental consulting field and 10 years of experience in project management in positions of increasing responsibility. Must have the ability to manage complex, multi-disciplinary projects. This leadership position is also expected to provide business development and marketing assistance, and to serve as a mentor to junior and mid-level staff.
General Duties
Function as Senior Project Manager on complex projects requiring coordination of teams of sub consultants, agencies, and company staff. Have responsibility for the planning and execution of these projects, including schedules, budgets, resource management, and invoice generation and approval. Be responsible for directing and supervising company staff, and coordinating sub consultants tasked with project components such as literature and internet research, data preparation and management, technical writing, report composition and production, and environmental fieldwork using standard methods. Additional responsibilities typically include multi-disciplinary project management activities.
Qualifications
Must be able to effectively plan, delegate, and supervise ecological assessments, environmental studies, and related engineering tasks which may include wetlands jurisdictional delineations in coastal and freshwater ecosystems, habitat characterizations, threatened and endangered species literature and field reviews, environmental permitting, water quality, restoration design, construction management. Knowledge and abilities in GIS analyses a plus. Ability to supervise and coordinate the organization, planning, and execution of tasks once they have been assigned. Needs experience applying Florida environmental regulations.
