Abencs is a full service detailed engineering, procurement and construction business headquartered in the metropolitan St. Louis, Missouri area. We are primarily focused on providing services to the renewable energy markets in the U.S. but we also have years of experience with conventional power plants and other industrial applications.

Position Overview:

Abencs is seeking a Sr. Project Engineer who will be responsible for leading the mechanical engineering team on a major ethanol project. Individual will also be responsible for the technical integrity of the mechanical engineering design with major industrial energy projects. Future projects with the company include solar power, cellulosic ethanol and other renewable energy projects.

Main Responsibilities:

Individual will be responsible for the overall technical integrity of the mechanical engineering design which includes but not limited to:  

  • Generating specifications for process vessels and equipment, heat exchangers, boilers/steam systems, and centrifugal pumps
  • Generating P&ID's and selection of piping systems
  • Experience with equipment technical evaluation, writing and execution for subcontracts preferred. 

Requirements:

Candidate must have strong leadership, organization, planning and communication skills. Start-up or field knowledge is a plus. BSME preferred with 5+ years Mechanical Engineering experience. Prior industrial engineering experiences a must. PE preferred and Mechanical Management or project lead experience is a plus.
