Senior Policy Analyst, Water for All Campaign

Food & Water Watch challenges the corporate control and abuse of our food and water resources by empowering people to take action and by transforming the public consciousness about what we eat and drink. We work on food safety, agriculture, fisheries, and water rights in a four-pronged effort: public and policymaker education, lobbying, media, and Internet activism. We want citizens to speak up, get involved at the grassroots level, and push for change in their communities.

Since 2000, the Water for All Campaign has been a leader in the international movement to secure the human right to water and to fight corporate control of water resources. Forbes Magazine has called water “the oil of the 21st century.” By 2025, two-thirds of the world’s population will lack access to clean, affordable water.

The Senior Policy Analyst will help Food & Water Watch engage with congressional offices, national and international partners, and the media.

Responsibilities include:

• Coordinate with allies and contract employees in Latin America and Africa,
• Serve as representative to international water coalitions
• Help design campaign strategy and tactics for domestic and international water issues
• Provide background research, translation and writing for Food & Water Watch publications

Requirements:

• Fluency in written and oral skills in English and Spanish; French a plus
• 7-10 years work experience public policy, international issues or related field required
• Work or study experience in a developing country highly desired
• Outstanding organizational skills and the ability to work well in a fast-paced team environment are crucial
• Knowledge of World Bank policy and research a plus.
• Strong interest in and commitment to promoting the goals of Food & Water Watch
• Ability to travel nationally and internationally.
