Position Overview

Puget Sound Energy’s Planning department is looking for a Senior Performance Analyst to join our Smart Grid Technology Planning team. Our team is building strategic plans for a smarter grid to meet PSE’s evolving operational and customer needs. This successful candidate will lead the effort to develop data-driven analysis and processes to drive the Smart Grid strategic plan.

At the discretion of leadership, this opening may also be filled at the performance analyst level depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.

Responsibilities

  • The ideal candidate will act as a liaison between Planning, Operations, Customer Care, Engineering and IT to identify, track and communicate operational business requirements for smart grid technologies. We are looking for someone who is able to translate requirements and processes into financial terms to build business strategies and business cases.
  • This role will work on a technical team developing recommendations for meeting PSE’s operational and customer needs through research and analysis of business needs, business data and vendor information. In addition, this person will support annual reporting and project prioritization efforts for smart grid projects.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering or technology; or equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.
  • 5 years’ experience leading and utilizing high-involvement process improvement or change management techniques/tools.
  • Demonstrated passion for continuous improvement.
  • Ability to work effective to tight deadlines in a fast paced environment on multiple projects.
  • Ability to take initiative and work both independently and as a part of a team to drive results.
  • Strong coaching and influencing skills.
  • Experience managing small projects and teams to achieve a business need.
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels with the ability to present information in a professional manner.
  • Ability to prepare and present to the director/executive level.
  • Ability to influence others and move toward a common vision and/or goal.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Graduate degree/coursework
  • Experience/certification in both structured and informal process improvement or change management methodologies.
  • Experience with large-scale organizational change efforts.
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies and applications.
  • Knowledge of change management methodologies and applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence without authority.
  • Experience facilitating.
