PECI is an energy efficiency consulting agency that designs and implements energy efficiency programs and research for utility companies and governmental agencies. Founded in 1980 and headquartered in Portland, Oregon, PECI has a longstanding tradition of pairing innovation with practicality to deliver customized energy solutions in building commissioning, retrocommissioning, and new construction with focus on HVAC, refrigeration, lighting, and appliances. 

Position Overview:

PECI is looking for a Senior Manager, Energy Efficiency Programs to join our San Francisco team leading PECI's commercial-retail energy efficiency team in one of the most progressive energy efficiency markets in North America. This person will be expected to partner with key accounts, innovate current programs, improve program performance, and contribute to new business development. This will be accomplished by leading a successful team of managers, remote employees and individual contributors. The successful candidate will build trusted relationships through client advocacy, partnering, resource management and effective leadership. 

PECI operates in a rapidly changing environment. This person must be able to maneuver quickly between big-picture design and implementation.  A strong strategic orientation must be accompanied by an ability to easily switch gears between strategy and execution in response to business needs.  The ideal candidate will be able to lead successfully in the midst ambiguity.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead one or more significant account relationships
  • Responsible for the achievement of programs' financial and energy savings goals
  • Develop and coach a team of managers, coordinators and field staff to achieve personal and professional goals
  • Partner with engineering, marketing, program operations and other groups within PECI
  • Assess program progress and anticipate new issues or market developments
  • Identify and implement improvements to PECI's efficiency services for our clients within program constraints
  • Develop and grow partnerships with vendors, internal partners and others
  • Develop and manage program budgets
  • Represent the company to clients and industry associations, including presentations, papers and networking

Qualifications:

  • Experience and success within a matrix organization preferred
  • Experience in the energy efficiency and/or utility industries preferred

Requirements:

  • 5-plus years of experience in program and staff management, preferably in a professional services environment
  • Experience in contract development, negotiation, and management
  • Experience in staff development throughout the organization
  • Experience presenting and communicating with colleagues at all levels
