Position Overview:
The Consortium for Ocean Leadership is pleased to announce the search for a Senior Manager, Contracts and Grants. This is a regular, full-time, exempt position. The position will report to the Assistant Director, Contracts and Grants the Finance and Administration department.
Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for managing and coordinating a complex grants portfolio including Cooperative Agreements, grants and sub-grants, foundation awards and highly technical special projects. S/he will serve as expert for the planning, implementation and evaluation of grant proposals and provide guidance on cooperative agreements, cost-share agreements, and memoranda of understanding.
S/he will negotiate, award, and review all reimbursement requests for appropriateness, and ensure that awardees are in compliance with established administrative and financial policies, terms and conditions of the award, procedures, and sound business practices. Following awards, s/he will monitor all phases of award and closing, including assessment of technical progress and performance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration or a related field;
- Minimum of 7 years' experience in grants administration, including budgeting and funding procedures;
- Knowledge of OMB Circulars (A-122, A-21, A-133) and other agency regulations;
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with internal and external customers at all levels;
- Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver against deadlines in a fast paced environment;
- Ability to perform a variety of complex tasks with minimal guidance and exercise sound judgment;
- Strong customer service orientation and attention to detail;
- Good problem-solving skills;
- Solid proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite of applications (MS Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, etc.); working knowledge of MS Project;
- Knowledge of National Science Foundation regulations (FATC) and NSF proposal process is highly desired;
- Experience with NAVISION is highly preferred.
