Mercatus is a SaaS software platform that helps distributed energy investors simplify investing and deploy capital faster and smarter. The solution covers the end-to-end process of investing, from planning to secondary market delivery, and helps investors quickly grow investments in distributed energy, gain visibility into their pipeline and simplify the delivery of assets to the secondary market.

Position Overview

As part of the Professional Services organization within Mercatus, the primary goal of the Senior Consultant will be ensuring successful Implementation and Configuration Services (“ICS”) to meet customer requirements while promoting customer adoption and providing a channel for the sale of other company Software and Services. This role is extremely critical as it takes the handoff of a client from a finalized Sales contract to ensuring that customer is effectively on-boarded (a consulting engagement that could last several months).

As such, the role is equal parts Sales, Client Management, and Operations, and it works closely with every area within the company while gaining a deep understanding of all areas of the business. The Senior Consultant will be the key interface to customer success and have consistent exposure to multi-national companies with the opportunity to lead a regional Professional Services team as the business grows.

Responsibilities

  • Own client engagement and program management of Professional Services deployment
  • Manage customer relationship throughout ICS
  • Lead requirements gathering with customer to ensure successful configuration specific to needs
  • Define deployment options for customer and outline key advantages / disadvantages with each
  • Coordinate individual Business Managers responsible for various elements of customer integration
  • Deliver final configuration to customer and complete onboarding
  • Lead Organization Change Management (“OCM”) within customer org, including heavy participation in Live Training and post-ICS adoption phases
  • Identify areas for other Software or Services within current customers through ICS engagements
  • Lead Business Consulting Study on prospecting customers to define requirements for Sales positioning
  • Drive proof-of-concepts for specific functional groups within prospective customers to illustrate successful deployments and value of SAAS
  • Create blogs / white papers / case studies to publish to industry and Sales as collateral
  • Develop skill set of Business Managers and help improve target client setup time / cost
  • Recruit Business Consultants and resources for other strategic consulting projects
  • Improve Customer Success Leaders through support during adoption phases

Qualifications

  • Experience implementing SaaS solution to Fortune 500 companies preferred
  • Ability to communicate equally effectively from C-level to entry level employees
  • Strong interpersonal skills to manage client relationships
  • Analytical with strong problem-solving skills
  • Process efficient with heavy attention to detail
  • Ability to proactively seek solutions and ways to improve performance
  • Ability to travel as required for customer engagements, including internationally
  • Experience delivering corporate training, proof-of-concepts, and promoting software usage preferred
  • Experience managing custom software integrations highly preferred
  • Ability to work off-hours as required to meet the needs of external partners
  • Ability to manage teams (globally)
  • Adaptability and desire to work in fast-paced, changing environment
  • Knowledge of renewable energy and investment process a +, but not required
  • Previous consulting experience a +, but not required
