Ineeka is a socially and environmentally responsible producer of 100% Organic, Biodynamic and Fair Trade whole-leaf teas. Check out our product in the tea aisle at Whole Foods Market! Our teas are grown on our own family farms in the Himalayas—the only U.S. tea company that has its own farms.

Position Overview:

In Chicago, we are in need of an additional team member who can support our sales and marketing efforts. Individuals will have the opportunity to learn from the company’s directors who have been pioneers in organic and socially responsible businesses for over 35 years.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include establishing contacts with all appropriate individuals within each account, presenting products and promotional programs, cultivating new accounts, and providing weekly updates of activities and observations.

  • Developing new accounts and maintaining existing ones within the gift, specialty, gourmet, spa, food service and hospitality segments
  • Conducting trainings and demos for the products
  • Providing merchandising support and conducting store-level and regional events
  • Establishing and maintaining contact with decision-makers in regional buying organizations
  • Providing support to the current sales and marketing team within the natural and specialty segments
  • Interacting with customers on the telephone
  • Administrative and organizational work as needed.

Position requires extensive fieldwork locally and also traveling about 50% of the time.

Qualifications:

  • Possess the ability to communicate effectively and be an energetic self-starter.
  • Have the ability to create strong long-term relationships with customers.
  • Have knowledge of direct supply, as well as distributor and broker management helpful.  Beverage/Consumer packaged goods sales experience will be an asset.
  • Have an interest in sales with 2 - 5 years prior sales experience.
  • Exhibit proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Power Point.
  • Maintain a personal commitment to natural and organic foods and environmentally responsible businesses.
  • Be a well-organized individual with an aptitude of negotiating and keeping track of sales leads and accounts, generating sales numbers, and providing meaningful reports to management.
  • Have the ability to work through multiple tasks simultaneously, manage time efficiently, and work with minimal supervision.
  • Willingness to travel 50% of the time to various markets and tradeshows.
  • Posses a 4-year college degree.
  • Reliable car required.

Compensation: Salary is competitive, and dependent upon qualifications and experience.
